Hummer is an American brand known for its bold, military-inspired SUVs. It originated from the Humvee (High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle), developed by AM General for the U.S. military in the 1980s. Due to its popularity during the Gulf War, a civilian version called the Hummer H1 was launched in 1992.

In 1999, General Motors (GM) acquired the Hummer brand and introduced the more consumer-friendly H2 and H3 models, which became popular for their aggressive looks and off-road capabilities. However, rising fuel prices and environmental concerns led to a decline in sales, and GM discontinued the brand in 2010.

In a dramatic revival, GM brought back Hummer in 2020 as an all-electric sub-brand under GMC, unveiling the GMC Hummer EV—a futuristic electric pickup and SUV that blends ruggedness with sustainability.
